Fried Bananas, Kefir and Honey Baked Nuts
To satisfy a sweet craving with the medicinal benefits of turmeric, nutmeg, ginger and cacao.
Hello,
I have a short but sweet recipe today ~ something easy and satisfying.
I make this when I’m not completely full from dinner and have that sugary craving following me around all evening.
It seems to tick all my boxes (something quick, fermented, fatty, carb-y, protein-y, anti-microbial, spicy, and a little bit chocolatey)
I hope you enjoy, let me know if you make it, would love to know your thoughts and if it helped satisfy any of your sweet treat cravings too.
Fleur xx
Ingredients:
1 x banana
1 Tbsp your favourite honey
1 Tps turmeric
1 Tsp ground nutmeg
50ml kefir
Honey baked nuts (regular mixed nuts will also work)
1 inch grated ginger
1 Tbsp cacao
Recipe:
Slice the banana in half lengthways.
Put a frying pan on a medium heat and melt the honey with the turmeric and nutmeg.
When the honey-herb mixture is bubbling place the bananas in the pan and fry the banana on both sides until golden brown and coated all over in the the mixture.
Remove from the pan and place in a bowl.
Pour over the kefir, followed by a sprinkling of nuts, freshly grated ginger and cacao.
Enjoy :~)
